National Twilight Night Anniversary

Mon in

ntn-logoIt’s that time of year again to celebrate National Twilight Night’s anniversary!  NTN is preparing to celebrate its 5th year anniversary!

On February 1st, National Twilight Night hit its 5th year anniversary milestone.  And, on Saturday February 24, 2018 National Twilight Night will celebrate this important milestone with a grand anniversary weekend event!

Started just as a one night only event, LaShawn “Shawn” Powell never imagined that today the group would still be in existent AND operating as an organization. Through the years NTN has changed in more ways than one with members coming and going, creating events and constantly coming up with ideas on how to maintain the NTN mission of keeping Twilight alive, thriving for our NTN sisters in addition to charity and social responsibility work.

National Twilight Night History

Our journey began about 5 years ago on February 1, 2013.  The NTN Facebook page was created on the night of January 27, 2013, which converted into an exclusively closed group about a month later.  The first National Twilight Night was held on Saturday February 16, 2013, via the NTN Facebook page with 50 plus members participating.  From that night, NTN has evolved from an online “sorority” like group to a structured organization.

National Twilight Night is approaching its fifth year of keeping Twilight alive while accomplishing other objectives.  It was during this five year period that NTN’s true purpose was defined and its efforts have continued.  The organization is proud to be playing an essential part in the way our Twilight sisters celebrate Twilight and keeping Twilight “relevant” to us. Since 2013, NTN’s vision has evolved to better fit the continuing growing mission.

Through the years National Twilight Night has fundamentally, progressed into a daily support system that NTN Sisters can rely on.  Just like anything else in life, NTN is far from perfect, but it is something FABULOUS and consistent that we can all be proud of and count on. There is a common understanding of a particular kind of love and support among Twilight sisters and for five years National Twilight Night has been a consistent conduit of that special love and support.  No matter of anyone’s opinions or comments about NTN, it is and always will be a symbol of love and will continue to thrive.

Thanks to our many Twilight events, activities, fundraisers, charities, raffles, auctions and new, current and former members, it means so much to the NTN organization to still be around celebrating four fabulous years.

Furthermore, National Twilight Night would like to thank everyone who has supported the organization in our mission for greatness for the last four years.  We thank our benefactors, affiliates, partners, NTN sisters, Loft Sisters, Facebook followers, Twitter followers, contributors, former members and everyone who has crossed paths with us. We thank you for your support because without you we wouldn’t be what we are today.

Please join us as we celebrate four wonderful, fabulous years; continuing our Twilight journey as a compassionate national Sisterhood striving to make a difference by giving back to society through charity fundraising and spreading charity awareness.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Happy New Year National Twilight Night Sisters!

On behalf of the NTN Leadership, I would like to wish everyone a happy and blessed 2018!

We are so excited for 2018 as we have many exciting things in the pipe line for the NTN organization!   The NTN Leadership would like to especially think those of you who remain actively participating in the group events/activities.  As I said before, the reason why NTN remains active and operable is because you are active in everything that we do.

One thing in particular we are very excited about and proud of, among other things, is our upcoming 5th anniversary!  On February 1st NTN will embark on five years of an extraordinary journey. This year NTN turns five years old!!  Can you believe it?!!  Through our ups and downs, challenges, obstacles, accomplishments, re-orgs and successes, NTN is still here and fully functioning – thanks to our incredible leadership who hung in there and are continuing to hold down things today.  And, I am especially thankful for them.

That being said, 2018 for National Twilight Night is going to be distinctly and unquestionably unconceivable.

So, thank you NTN Sisters for making our 2017 phenomenal and our upcoming 2018 bright.

Shawn

Crafting Like a Cullen! Scrapbook and Poster Board Fun!

On Saturday September 30th, National Twilight Night participated in yet another sister-hosted event!  At this event, NTN came together to…. yep you guessed it – “Craft Like a Cullen”.  Some of the sisters of National Twilight Night came together to craft Twilight scrapbooks and poster boards.  The sisters got their creative juices flowing by cutting, pasting, gluing, sticking, plastering, stapling, pinning, coating, covering, uncovering, organizing to broadcast and display their visions and creativeness all inspired by Twilight. These fabulous sisters got together to create, teach and inspire one another about the art of scrapbooking! There’s so much to know it’s really fascinating!

There were about 10 participants and they were automatically entered into the ‘Crafting Like a Cullen! ‘Contest – they presented and displayed their works of art at the end of the event when National Twilight Night voted. And, of course according to the votes, the best creation prevailed.  Our beloved sister Regina (aka GG), from Orlando, Florida was the winner of the inspirational, inventiveness and visionary contest for ‘Crafting Like a Cullen’. Congratulations Regina!!

Everyone’s ability and techniques at this event uncovered the hidden treasures of creativeness in these fabulous sisters!

NTN Donates to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation

On Friday September 15th, National Twilight Night hosted a Bella and Renesmee’s Birthday Bash event to celebrate Bella and Renesmee’s birthdays.  This was a night of contests, games, raffles and fun to celebrate Bells’s 30th birthday and Renesmee’s 11th Birthday.  NTN couldn’t let this opportunity pass without acknowledging this special occasion.

NTN also used this event to donate to a charity cause as well. With a $5 admittance fee/ raffle entry fee, NTN was able to donate a $100 to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer – a little contribution to do their part to help the cause of fighting childhood cancer.  It wasn’t much, but it was a little something.

National Twilight Night thanks all the sisters who attended Bella and Renesmee’s Birthday Bash while contributing to a great cause. The donators will receive National Twilight Night appreciation certificates for their generous contributions.

A special THANK YOU to NTN Vice President Tammy DiStefano and NTN Director of Charity Contributions and Outreach Kristen Lewetzow.

National Twilight Night – Restructured

ntn-logoSome people thing change is not always good. But in the scheme of things the recent changes within the National Twilight Night organization was definitely a good move.  On September 1, 2017, the National Twilight Night has modified the structure of its organizational structure to better allocate, coordinate and oversee its direct objectives towards the organization new objections.

From top to bottom, NTN underwent some major changes.  The main goal was to transition into one primary group, instead of having two groups under the NTN organization umbrella.  The NTN Sisterhood and the NTN Loft and all of its operations and activities have transitioned to the NTN Loft.  While the NTN Loft has converted into the organization’s main group, the NTN Sisterhood will remain, but will only consist of NTN leadership.

The transition and restructuring has also resulted in the modifications of NTN Board positions. The former NTN Board is now the new NTN Leadership, which still consists of the NTN President, Vice President, Director of Charity Outreach, Director of Social Media/Public Relations and Director of Membership Services along with a few new positions and a modification to one position.  As mentioned, to better serve the NTN Sisters, there were a few new positions added – NTN Loft Director, Director of Administrative Affairs (Changed from Secretary) and so far two NTN Officers for member birthdays as well as events/activities – all to move the organization forward to success.

As the goals and objectives have shifted for the National Twilight Night organization, the NTN loft, with 80 plus members, has become the center of the group’s operations as everything will revolve around the members as well as their participation.

Although, Twilight is the reason for the birth of National Twilight Night, the organization has evolved furthering its purpose. And, as NTN approaches its 5th year of existence, the group is looking forward to their new and improved mission of more charity and social responsibility initiatives.

Meet the new NTN Leadership………

President – LaShawn

Vice President – Tammy

Director of Charity Contributions and Outreach – Kristen

Director of Social Media (Public Relations) – Sarah
